An individual who went by the first name of Kendrick (cannot find his Facebook profile now or remember the last name used) posted in a Lauren Daigle concert Facebook event attempting to sell 4 tickets he claimed his family could no longer use, very detailed listing the row and seats for sale and to message or text him. I proceeded to text with him about the tickets and he informed me he had 2 of the 4 tickets left, perfect for my husband and I. We conversed about payment, first requested to be paid through Apple Wallet, with some sort of iTunes or Amazon gift card. When those methods did not work for me he said Paypal would work (as that seemed more secure to me) and I had suggested that first. He expressly requested to only be paid via friends and family (should have done more due-diligence) to realize that you cannot cancel and request a refund with friends and family, and instead should opt for their seller protection which requires the seller selling the goods to pay a fee. He quickly informed me that my $200 PayPal payment (sent to his wife's account, as directed) was pending on his end and would inform me when it went through (even apologized for the inconvenience). The next day I texted him twice to get a status update on the payment and to receive the tickets via electronic transfer as he stated, received no response and upon calling his phone, only stated, "call rejected." I texted him one last time to give him the benefit of the doubt and never heard back. Anyway, just posting this experience to hopefully keep others from being scammed and losing money. On a positive note, I posted about my experience online, a friend reached out to me who in turn gifted me a VIP ticket and special experience to attend the concert and meet Lauren Daigle after all, which made this whole experience work out for the better. God can turn anything in to good as I learned!
Follow Ups/Extra Information. Most recent is listed first.
Same issue as prior report. Guy who was having me PayPal through his wife’s account. I said I sent through goods/services and he became upset and said that since I didn’t use friends/family that he wouldn’t sell ticket. He asked me to cancel it on my end, which I couldn’t. He said that he canceled it on his end, but the transaction ended up posting a few days later. I have emailed and texted, and sent a PayPal request to the wife’s email to get my money back. They canceled my PayPal request. I have started a PayPal dispute, so hopefully I get my cash back.
