This person claimed to be an accountant and underwriter for an offshore financial institution in the United Kingdom. He claims that a person with my last name died a few years back and that he could not find any other relatives to contact in regards to a financial insurance claim of $6.8 million US. He says that he could not find any one else with the same name and therefore he had reached out to me. I found this very strange because I am not a relative of this family, however, my husband would be. He uses the first name William in the letter. He requested my personal information such as full name, address, occupation, phone/fax, email address and the reference number listed on the letter head. He goes on to say that this must remain confidential and that my prompt attention is required within 14 business days. SCAM!

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell. And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
