I searched the details and found all the other cases listed here so I just reported the number to the Australian Government scam site and didn't reply. I am in Victoria, Australia.

He texted me with a name (no number) asking for my 'firm price'. When I queried him on which item through his email he gave me, he asked what I was selling. When I told him my 15 items, he asked for a total price. When I gave a separate price for each one, he again just asked for a total price. I gave him a total price of all and he has began pretending he wants to pay via PayPal - which is the early stage of SCAM reported on:

Received email from 'Gumtree' suggesting that we use Top Vehicle Brokers to deposit asking price in 3rd party (Barclays) account.
We deposited the money, the car didnt turn up.
Reported it to Barclays, Gumtree & Police to no avail. Barclays & Gumtree were quick to dismiss the situation, which is shocking considering they must have been aware of the several other cases. The police determined bank account was opened with fake ID.

When i asked for his details he gave the address away which i googled and it came up on the scammers website.
Same as others - he cannot pay as he is abroad on a oilrig, he even said he had left his credit card at home.

Scammer responded to an advertisment for my car that I am selling.
He wrote a long winded story regarding how he wanted to buy the car for his son who lived in the NT. He came across very keen and interested in purchasing the car from me. Mentioned pay pal or direct bank transfer for payment. My girlfriend suggested that it sounded like it could be a scam so I googled his name and found this website .... thank goodness!
