Selling my MacBook on Craigslist. He stated he's at an Air Force Hanscom Base in Bedford Massachusetts and that he was using a "hauler" to pick up my laptop since I live in another state. Asked for my zip code to determine "distance price". After I gave him my PayPal email, he stated to CHECK my SPAM/JUNK. Big red flag since no payment platforms work like this. All payment platforms are instant payments with a SINGLE confirmation email straight to your inbox -- this is the process of a legit business transaction. I got 2 separate emails from him that had an @aol.com, so it didn't even match the email he gave me (robindavid583@gmail.com) and they were flagged as dangerous from Gmail.

I googled his email (robindavid583@gmail.com) and a user from FaceBook disclosed that this person was a scammer and many different people commented about their experience with the same exact person. Many commenters shared on the same day indicating that he tried purchasing many items from different people on the same day. I immediately ended our conversation. Next, I found this website and I wanted to do my due diligence. DO NOT open any links within the email and do not give out personal information. Luckily I only shared my zip code, email address, and a fake phone number I used - you cannot do anything with that information.

STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!! Please remember that although times are tough in terms of finances, it is important to remain SMART. DO NOT let desperation get the better of you!!

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell. And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
