He then sent emails saying he was a marine engineer at sea and was buying it for his son. He then sent an email after saying he had problems with the pick up and would I help. Then saying he\'d paid via PayPal into my account, and I quickly received emails supposedly from PayPal saying my account had been credited however they would not release the funds until I sent £250 via Western Union for the pickup agent!!! Obviously a scam, as PayPal email address looked like this
service@paypal.co.uk.
Paypal verified the email was scam obviously. But it was nevertheless very cleverly done, be aware. |

This is an email i received after he contacted me about my car which was for sale on one of websites:
Hello thanks for reply, i am a marine engineer, i am at sea right now. I
am buying this for my son as a surprise gift. I can only pay through
paypal at the moment as i don't have access to my bank account online(i
dont have internet banking with it), but i have it attached to my
paypal account, and this is why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all
i will need is your paypal email address to make the payment, and if
you dont have a paypal account yet, you can set one it cant take you
less than 3mins to do that, i will be expecting your paypal email so l
can pay. I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after
payment has been sorted, l will be waiting for your reply asap..

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
