| No Name Townsville, Queensland, Australia 2013-07-14 12:43:29 Classified Ads Scam Gumtree | +1 Required western union payment before he would send me my payment for item Buyer contacted myself via email. Was very keen to buy didnt really make much effort to barter on a price which was negotiable. He the said he would send payment i gave him details and told him nothing would proceed until funds had cleared. Figured it was too good to be true but i humored the idea.
He then claimed a fault with freighting company required me to pay $950 through western union and he would add it to total cost. Have not replied and dont plan to. |

Buyer contacted me via text. Keen to get more info on the product I had for sale. They supplied the email address for me to contact them on for with the information, ( confirm price condition etc).
Sent the info got a reply back immediately which is below,
(,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project. We do not have access to phone at the moment, its 15days off and 15days on and that's why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal,please get back to me with your paypal details so i can process the payment, you can alternatively send your bsb and acct number if you have no PayPal acct.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up and deliver it to my place in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.)
When I searched the email address via google and social media it was just as I thought a scam.
Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
