| Anonymous Somewhere in United States 2013-08-12 18:04:52 Overpayment Scam Cars.com | +1 Untitled Overpayment Scam on Cars.com, ref:11517 Listed car for sale on Cars.com. Received text from an Alex AKA Alexander 512-623-7540who wanted to know if car was still for sale and if I can respond to his email: aj62092@gmail.com. Responded to his email in which he followed up and stated that he wanted to purchase the car for his dad in Idaho. He claimed to work as an Oceanographer assigned to an important mission. He stated that he will put the money in my paypal and have a pick-up agent come get the car. He stated \"This transaction is based on HUGE amount of trust and I expect to see this from your end as it is on me.\" |

Wants to buy my car advertised on Cars.com through Paypal, as a gift for his Dad, Donald Jones, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Scam EmailFirst contact via text message. Then via email. Requests more info on \'mechanical condition of the car\', but says he is willing to pay asking price immediately. Responds to my emails promptly, stating the need to proceed with great \"trust\"; here\'s his quote:
\"I am away at sea at the moment, I work as an Oceanographer presently assigned to an important mission outside the country. Once I make the paypal payment and is transferred into your account, the agent will contact you in-order to handle the pickup from your location and he will also be of assistance concerning the change of ownership by presenting all the information\'s/documents needed to complete the change of ownership. This transaction is based on HUGE amount of trust and I expect to see this from your end as it is on mine.\"
