He gave me fake e-mails from PayPal saying that money has been sent to my account. When I called PayPal they told me that there was no transactions in the last few years. He then said he sent me to PayPal fraud through the FBI and he said the cops would show up at my house. Also the address he wanted me to send money to was fake and who uses the Duck Dynasty legends name as a delivery person. |

He never gave a name. But asked how much I wanted for a Custom High End Extreme Desktop Computer that is listed on Craigslist. Immediately I pretty much knew it was a scammer since the price is in the ad. He offered to pay via Paypal, I told him I don't accept Paypal payments. He then offered to pay via MoneyGram. I could accept that so I agreed to the sale plus $450 for shipping costs. A while later I received an email supposedly from MoneyGram stating that the funds have been sent. BUT I had to provide a tracking number for the computer BEFORE they would allow me to collect the funds. I NEVER heard of them doing that before and was 99% sure t was a scam email. I called MoneyGram and sure enough they DON'T do that. MoneyGram funds, like Western Union are available almost immediately. So I sent him an email back stating that I called MoneyGram and they told me that that is NOT how they do business and I knew the email was a scam. I said I'd gladly accept a Postal Money Order and would ship the desktop computer as soon as the money order was verified as genuine and not a forgery. I' still waiting on a response to that email....I doubt he will respond again.

Wants to send payment for Craigslist item via PayPal. I refused since I wanted a US Postal Money Order or a Bank Cashier's Check (i.e. certified funds). Agreed to listing price without offering counter offer. Didn't even want to view furniture before offering to pay. This was a red flag to me so I researched the email address they gave at first contact and found scam listing. Reported to Craigslist as a Scam. Pitiful that someone wants to scam a OIF/OEF Disabled Veteran.
