| +1 I was on Homeaway.com website looking for a place to rent in October in New York City. I found this apartment located in Green Rented an apartment in Greenwich Villages for October 12 - 16. Wired $1043 to account # 50980692 Barclays Bank UK. July 22, 2013 received an email saying my reservation is cancelled. I used Homeaway.com and found the apartment on the website. You are instructed to email the property manager or the owner. I did and got a response and then instruction to wire funds and a residential guest rental form which I filled out, signed and returned. I have used Homeaway.com several times and have been quite happy. They investigated and can\'t find the property or where my money is. If anyone has any suggestion as to who I need to approach to get my money back, I would really appreciate it. |

Fake company trying to get me to wire thousands of dollars for a rental property to a bank account. I found a property on either VRBO or Airbnb, and inquired about availabilty. The reply came not through the site but to my email directly from above company. I am posting this to see if I can help the individual who did lose his/her money. Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
