Rented an apartment in Greenwich Villages for October 12 - 16. Wired $1043 to account # 50980692 Barclays Bank UK. July 22, 2013 received an email saying my reservation is cancelled. I used Homeaway.com and found the apartment on the website. You are instructed to email the property manager or the owner. I did and got a response and then instruction to wire funds and a residential guest rental form which I filled out, signed and returned. I have used Homeaway.com several times and have been quite happy. They investigated and can\'t find the property or where my money is. If anyone has any suggestion as to who I need to approach to get my money back, I would really appreciate it.

Fake company trying to get me to wire thousands of dollars for a rental property to a bank account. I found a property on either VRBO or Airbnb, and inquired about availabilty. The reply came not through the site but to my email directly from above company. I am posting this to see if I can help the individual who did lose his/her money. Get in touch if you want to exchange info.
