Posted an ad on Kijiji for our sectional couch. (name of ad was \'SECTIONAL\'.. all in upper case) Very literally, within SECONDS, i get this reply via text message.. and i quote letter for letter: \"Hello please email ASAP on my email (ryanbig456@live.com) cos i need to reconfirm your full asking price for the SECTIONAL\" First red flag, he put the word \'sectional\' all in upper case as i had done for the ad.. who does that? Second red flag, i logged back into Kijiji to see how many people viewed my ad.. still at zero. He didn\'t even open up the ad. I\'m not stupid.. red flags everywhere, so i took a cautious step and googled the bastard. Typed in that email address, and this site among others came up.. all to do with scamming. When this happened before, i had posted my truck on Kijiji for $3000. That evening i received an email from a guy in Belarus of all places, telling me he would buy my truck.. but he would send me $5000 via Western Union Money Transfer, and trust me to send back to him the remaining $2000, and having someone come and pick up the truck once the money was transferred to ME, NOT after i had transferred the remainder back to him.. uhh.. yeah, not falling for that! I had emailed him back and forth all the next day trying to explain to him that i would only accept cash or a bank certified cheque.. his story never changed, and just said over and over \"i understand that, but i will do western union blah, blah, blah\".. not sure what would have happened if i had gone along with it.. some kind of bank scam? Don\'t be a fool, falling for this crap is not cool! | |||||
