\"Stracy Harris\" contacted me to buy my car from autotrader.com moments after I posted it, willing to pay asking price but needed pics of engine compartment... I obliged and was sent an email saying that he or she would only pay using paypal as he/she was a \"petrol engineer\" offshore and needed the car quickly for his/her Dad\'s birthday, after researching the name I was led to scamdex which i was able to read an email sent to another person claiming that Stracy was an oceanographer trying to buy a car for his or her dads birthday asking for the same information. I was contacted from a gmail account: stracyharris27@gmail.com and the person reporting the scam was contacted from this gmail account: straceyharris72@gmail.com.... coincidence? I don\'t think so...

email was as follows:

Thanks For getting back to me.I wish I could come and view the vehicle
but that would not be possible at the moment.I am pleased with the
pictures you sent to me and I am happy with the condition of the
vehicle.I am willing to pay your asking price. However,I am buying this
car for my dad as a birthday gift and I am working offshore at the
moment as I am a petro-chemical engineer and due to the nature of my
work I really want it to be a surprise for my dad so i wont let him
know anything about it until the vehicle gets delivered to him, I am
sure he will be more than happy with it.I am ready to pay for the
vehicle using my pay-pal account. If you have a PayPal account get back
to me with the information below and If you do not have a PayPal
account it is easy to sign up for a new one.PayPal is safe and secure
for both buyer and seller. All you will have to do is go to PayPal\'s
website at http://www.paypal.com and set up a new PayPal account. The
information I will need for the payment appears below:
Your PayPal email address
Your Full name
Confirm your asking price
Zipcode for Pickup
Once payment has been cleared into your account,I have a pick up agent
who will handle the transportation of the vehicle for me.My pick up
agent will come over for the vehicle after we have agreed on a certain
day and time for pickup.

I hope to read from you soon.

Same as others, texted asking for pictures of engine compartment from phone # 347-363-1921 immediately after my Autotrader ad went live. Gave same email address of straceyharris27@gmail.com and after reading about the scam here I deleted the message.

Got a text after having my autotrader.com posting up for only a few hours and also said that he/she wants a picture of the engine sent to his email: straceyharris27@gmail.com. After google searching his email it led me to this website and learned that this guy is spam.
