I received an email from A Harris at employment.office.anthony@gmail.com he said he'd seen my CV on Totaljobs website. The email went on to say that he had a job offer for a Financial Support Agent.
He stated he worked for Employment Office recruitment agency. I checked online and there is a recruitment agency by that name, so I responded. As soon as I got the second email stating the job was with Digital Age Ltd, I also noted his email address had changed to job@digital-age-uk.com. I checked this out and found out it was a scam.
I then rang the number (01865 589102) as shown on the website for Employment Office Recruitment Agency (Address: Level 14, APEX Tower, High Street, New Malden, KT3 4DQ, Surrey, UK) at 5.00 am, amazingly this call to a UK number was diverted to a number in Australia where the call was answered by Jessika Woolford (email: jessika.woolford@employmentoffice.com.au). I checked this out further and found another completely identical website but for Employment office recruitment in Australia (1300 366 573 — 265 Coronation Dr, Milton QLD 4064)
I contacted Totaljobs and they just hid behind "It's a phishing scam", but there was certain information in my CV that was used that could NOT have been gained by a phishing scam or from anywhere else. I have also contacted the ICO and reported it as a breach of Data Protection Act.
I have since then also received an email from office@thecvsite.co.uk which used the information that was in my CV so these people are passing on/selling your email address.
This all matched what I had read on http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=77475
Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
