Paypal (paypal.com) |  +4 Chris Robert Oil Rig Scam Receieved the following email in response to my ad for a truck for sale:hello , i would like to know its present condition and price. I responded with my price (that was listed in the ad) and the condition. I received the following email response:Hi thanks for mailing back,am ok with the price and the condition,am buying it for my vacation,because i\'ll be coming soon from our rig as am a petroleum project engineer on a rig offshore,i won\'t be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work,i would have love to call in person but we have call restriction due to bad weather condition our satellite server has been down.i will be paying you through PayPal,please get back to me with your PayPal details so i can proceed with the payment and contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and deliver it in my place.

I was very suspicious. Copied and pasted his email to google and did a search and found this and other websites warning of this scam where they will basically reply to you with a fake PayPal email and try to get your personal information or bank account. Bastards! |

Same as the others he replies to a car ad and wants bank details and/or paypal address. The email sounded fishy so I googled it and found this. Thank god for Google!
Scam EmailThanks for mailing back,am ok with the price and the condition,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project.We do not have access to phone at the moment,its 15days off and 15days on and that\'s why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal,please get back to me with your paypal details so i can process the payment,you can alternatively send your bsb and account number if you have no PayPal account.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up and deliver it to my place in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your account.
