eBay (www.ebay.com) |  +1 paypal payment faker i put a phone for sale on gumtree.
i got an email next day asking me to send him request for money on paypal. after short time i received an mail that appeared to be from paypal, giving me the following details to post the phone to the following address:

11 Akharia street off mela motel road,
Off osakpamwan street,
Uselu Benin city, Edo State,
23452, Nigeria.

I advised the guy that postage is more so I will need to check exact one and let him know. He started moaning that the money has gone out of his account and he needs the phone to be posted as soon as possible.
So I cancelled the transaction on ebay.
Then I started receiving emails from \'paypal\' saying that the money cannot be refunded and that i need to send payment to that person. I also got email stating that unless i send money or the phone, there will be legal action taken against me.
I called paypal directly. They said that there arent any transactions and that they did not sent me any emails.
After looking at those emails carefully, i noticed they were sent from service@paypal.co.uk
i sent email to that guy telling him to get lost.
so look out for dodgy buyers asking items posted abroad asap

I received an email in response to a phone I had for sale, asking what reduction could I make from the stated price.
I replied and 3 days later I received an email for them stating they were ready to make the payment for the stated price plus £20 for postage, and requested I claim the money via PayPal.
I sent an invoice to the email address given, and within 7 minutes, I received an email from 'service@paypal.co.uk' as follows:
Your invoice (0001) was just sent to sydneypaul46@gmail.com. Please note that it may take a few moments for details of this invoice to appear in your account overview.

Note to sydneypaul46@gmail.com
Please can you provide your address, so I may post the item today. The item will be sent via Special Delivery - Next Day

Address Status: Confirmed
I called PayPal due to the shipping address being Nigeria and they confirmed there was no paid or pending funds on my account and confirmed no emails had been send by PayPal.
I was asked to forward the emails to 'spoof@paypal.com' as their fraud department were currently looking into these fraudulent scams.
It's self explanatory that you post the item and you'll never receive payment for it. Your item is probably then used to scam someone else into sending money for a phone they'll never receive.
