So, I place a simple ad for the sale of some plants in Florida. Not even 24 hrs later I get a text message from this number 1-(848)-467-8409 asking if the item is still available. I respond Yes. The next day, this person who calls himself Gerry Wollman was ready to purchase the item at full price, no haggling, no questions asked, and without even seeing a picture of the item, VERY strange. He said he would pay by bank check and wait till my bank verifies and clears the check before we proceeded with the \"pickup\". So I start wondering; why would someone from Utah be so interested in plants from Florida? I did some research and there it was, the name Gerry Wollman associated with craigslist scams. Luckily for me I had already sold the item. I responded to this Gerry guy telling him the item was no longer available. He responds by saying that he knows there are many scams out there but that he can assure me there will not be a problem. Told him, sorry, item not available. He instist by reassuring me again that the check will clear before the sale is finalized, except this time he says \"I will wait for the check to clear at your bank before we set up with the \"SHIPMENT\" plan.\" That is when I knew it was a scam. Why would anyone be so insistent on this simple purchase? DO NOT do business with Gerry Wollam from Utah!
