They wanted me to set up a Paypal account for the transaction and send a courier to collect the (Item).
Good luck raising cows in the ocean!
Looked it up and found lots of similar scams where payment is received via Paypal, item collected and then a refund requested when the goods don\'t turn up. Meanwhile their agent has collected the item and sometimes asked for their courier payment which was included. Paypal reverse the payment and you lose. |

I was trying to sell a bed online and got this reply:
Hi ,
Thank your for your response. I am so sorry for not responding back to your message on time it was due to being busy with work, good to know the (item ) is still available for sale and still in good condition as it was described on the advert. I want you to know i have a courier company that will come for the pick up of the item, so you don't have to other your self shipping the item, i will handle the shipping expenses. I am an oceanographer and am presently working on sea due to my status of work, i won't be able to see it but i will be okay with pictures if available and i would be happy to purchase it from you, no return or any complain.
I will be making making payment through Pay pal because my bank account is linked to my Pay pal account and Pay pal is a secured method of payment for both the buyer and seller. Kindly email me a Pay pal money request invoice direct to my verified Pay pal email which is the same as my email address elizabethemery001@outlook.com to proceed with the payment. I believe you can set up a Pay pal account easily at www. pay pal.com.au if you don't have one. Looking forward to hear back from you soon.
Cheers
Then I replied with my paypal and got the following reply, at that stage I figured something was up and googled the IP address and the email address and found this. I have not contacted the scammer since.
Hi Nick,
Thank you for the Pay Pal Invoice,if you could remember in my previous email i mentioned i have a courier company that would be coming for the pick up of the item,i was about to make the payment right now into your Pay Pal account when i had this little problem with the picking up of the item, due to i am an oceanographer and presently working on the sea. So i tried to secure booking right now with my courier company but they asked me to pay first before they can make the booking, and they only accept Western Union Money Transfer for payments because of the bad experienced they had in the past with other form of payment.they don't accept Pay Pal or bank transfer. So I tried to send the money on line but it's not going through and I am on sea there is no way i can get off the sea to find a western union agent to make the transfer to my courier company, so i would like to ask if it will be okay for me to include my courier company fees together with your payments through Pay Pal,So you will help me transfer the pick up fee to them via western Union Money Transfer immediately i pay you.I don't mean to bother you I'm sure you understand that I'm presently on the sea and there is nothing i can do to that. The bottom line is after I have made the payments via Pay Pal,you will help transfer my courier company fee to them through western union money transfer, I just wanted to seek your consent before going ahead with the payments,I will be very happy if my offer is given a favourable consideration,Respond as soon as possible so that i can send out your Payment.
Cheers
