Aoife Somewhere in Ireland 2012-03-14 12:08:30 Job Scam | Au pair scan
I\'m fully convinced I\'ve been the target of a potential scam. Thankfully I haven\'t parted with any money. This occurred on easyaupair.com. Becky Sharon (aupair) becky.sharon@rocketmail.com Welsh native from Latvia living in Cameroon Using reference of dr. Jeannifer laugerback jeannyback@gmail.com. (Supposed previous employer in Scotland) Becky over keen to come to our family in ireland, sent me a generic email introducing herself. I replied with some questions and she sent the same email once again, it was clear she hadn\'t read mine. Alarms bells were ringing already. She announced she had booked a flight without being fully formally invited. Stated her money was tied up in savings accounts until september 2013 so she paid a deposit to a travel agents of £300. was short £185 and requested I use western union to transfer the remainder to the travel agents. Stated her parents credit card had been wiped out in some sort of fraud and they were awaiting a refund. She already told me her dad was dead? At first I played along and said I would pay. I received an email from the travel agency requesting the balance on behalf of Miss Becky Sharon and to make it payable to Awonfor Frankly. This email was sent 2 minutes after hers and it was almost midnight Cameroon time! What dedicated employees this travel agents has! I informed Becky I wouldn\'t be making the payment. She begged me to and said I could wire it to her personally instead if I didn\'t trust the agency! Within 2 minutes of this, I received an email from Beckys reference, dr.jeannifer laugerback begging me to help Becky as she was like a daughter to her. I told her being asked to wire money for flights in the Cameroon was the oldest trick in the book and I wouldn\'t be doing it. I told \"dr.laugerback\" that if Becky was like a daughter then why wouldn\'t she help her. She told me she was financially unable to do so. 6 years in medical school and she can\'t afford a flight. She also suggested I wire the money directly to Becky if I don\'t trust the agency. Silence ensued and the good doctor then mailed me stating she had wired £85 to Becky. I got the same email from Becky 2 minutes later. They now needed £100 from me. I have asked them both to stop emailing me now. Please inform other users of your website of this. I don\'t want anyone to get caught out. These people are scum, preying on people\'s good nature and trust. |
