Craigslist (craiglist.com) |  +3 Paypal scam on Craigslist I placed a motorcycle for sale on Craigslist asking to be contacted by text or call only. Got two texts asking for an email address with different reasons as to why they couldn\'t text. Sent the email address with additional info on the bike. Got this email back from Christopher:

buying it for my Son as a Birthday surprise gift and he doesn\'t know about it,
so can you assure me i won\'t be disappointed?as we have been deployed to Sudan for peace keeping mission
now so i won\'t be able to come take a look at it,also no shipping will be involve as i have a mover that will come for the pick up,
so i can only pay you via one of the fastest and secure way to pay online(PayPal)...Do you have a PayPal
account?Let me know asap so i can arrange the payment through PayPal.

Got an almost identical email from willbill955@gmail.com from \"Jack\". He had slightly different details about where he was and why he couldn\'t come in person - but both were willing to pay up front and had a \"personal shipper\" who would come collect the bike when \"the money cleared\". |

Same as above details - I posted a camp trailer on Craigs List, got a text and emails asking for more info and pictures and my paypal information to send me payment. A third party would be picking the trailer up to deliver to him. Said he was purchasing as a surprise for his family and his email contact has a picture of a soldier in full gear.

Same as detailed above. Same method of asking for more photos and avoids phone contact. Just didn't seem right that he was so eager to buy without seeing the items. Thanks to this website I could validate my instincts that it was a scam.

Trying to sell dirt bike on Craigslist. Got 2 texts asking that I send more information and pictures back to his email address. When I did, he returned with below email.

Scam EmailA red flag went up when he said he would buy it site unseen. So I researched the email address and Paypal scams and found this site. I guess he has done this before.
