The scammer posed as a buyer who was responding to some goods I have for sale on Gumtree. The first e-mail was short and innocuous:
\"Hi,
Do you still have your item for sale? am interested in it and what is your last asking price, please email me back.
Thanks\" (
After I responded saying the goods were still available, I received the following email:
\"Hello ,
