Sent text message with no number re carsales ad. I was asked to email him the details. I emailed and received the email below.

Desmond "responded" to an ad on either Gumtree or carsales.com.au via a service which appeared on my phone as WebSMS asking if the car was still for sale and could I send more details to his e-mail address, desmountney07@gmail.com
I confirmed the car was for sale and received the following e-mail from him:
Thank you for the mail,i am okay with the little details have read in the advert compare to the others have seen recently and please Does it have any more history I should be aware of.I work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently on a mine site, We do not have access to phone at the moment,its 15days off and 15days on,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.
I am buying this for my first son who just graduated ontop of his class at Charles Darwin University in NT ,He studied Building Design & Architecture. I want it to be the perfect graduation gift and a surprise package for him and I will really appreciate if you can email more info.
Please kindly send me your BANK details or pay pal payment email and name to set up purchase,as i don't have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here on our mine site but i have my ANZ bank account linked up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account i will arrange for pick up and delivery to NT by my freight agent after the cleared payment to your account.

I checked out his "employer" and the school, which were both legitimate, but then found his name on the website with the exact same scam. Never got to the point where he asked me to pay for shipping etc.

Got sms from him - sender came up as 'Desmond'. Asked to email him back, but i sms him back and sms came up as 'not delivered'.

He texted me first wanting to know if the vehicle was still available and to email him a reply. I noticed the number was not from Australia so was very cautious. I sent a short email with car details and he replied with the details below. I was even more concerned now so I did some google searching and found this website with the same email address. I haven't responded to him and certainly won't be selling him the vehicle. DODGY!!!

So due to the nature of my job and location i will not be able to come for inspection,am a very busy type as i work long hours everyday off shore oil rig department,i have gone through your advertisement and i am satisfied with it and am sure my son will be more than happy with it. Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal linked up with my ANZ bank account,please get back to me with your paypal details so i can process the payment,you can alternatively send your bsb acct name and number if you have no PayPal acct.I have been introduce to a reputable shipping company that will handle the delivery in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your account.Await your reply.
