I have been looking for a job since I moved to the area, and was contacted by \"Kevin Mayer\" about a job opening for a Medical Insurance Reimbursement and Coding Specialist. That was something that I could have clicked to apply to on Indeed.com. Not sure where it came from. When you are job hunting you click on a lot of things, apply to a lot of jobs.
Well he contacted me as he did many others asking that you send a resume, then wanting to set up a phone interview. Once you do that he asks you to complete 3 tasks. The first is basically a formal form of work history name, address, phone number. The second he wants you to take an assessment, which he wants you to buy a book for. The one for me was a Medical coding book, I looked at the book and it seemed like a legit book and all....read through some of it though it was well over 350 pages, so a text book. Then you are to take the assessment which, by the way none of the answers to those questions were in the book. I just knew most of them from experience. The book was pretty useless. So 19.99 down the drain. Then the last thing was asking for 2 references.
So the day comes for the interview....no call....no call....waited til it was 1pm in central time....no call. Tried to email him while waiting and it sends back a \"failure to send\" thing.
Started to google him and the company and well that\'s when I found this site with other reports of the same guy, different locations and jobs
For something that was complete bullshit he put a lot of work into it for 20 bucks. AND had very accurate and challenging questions that do apply to the job.
Follow Ups/Extra Information. Most recent is listed first.
Same thing, they contact you for a job, you schedule a call that never rings. I didnt got the book
