We then got an e-mail saying the money had been paid into our Paypal account, but before it could be released, we had to pay $1650 via Western Union to the car transport company\'s head office in China. He had reportedly also deposited funds to cover this, then email a copy of the receipt to Paypal, via the link they sent. We then got several e-mails reputedly from Paypay asking for the $1650 to be paid. I checked my Paypal account and not surprised to see no funds there. I then contacted Paypal and the Police, who confirmed it was a scam. I e-mailed Romond Jak and canceled the deal, which was very quickly followed by an e-mail from the fake Paypal threatening legal action. I emailed them back saying that I was aware they were a scam, and that I had forwarded all e-mails to Paypal and the Police. Not heard a word from them since. If you get one of these scams, DO NOT use the link, as they use it to direct you to a fake site where they can obtain your personal details. |
