Mathew grick contacted me regarding a motorcycle I am selling on Gumtree within the first hour of the add being posted. He said almost the identical story as I read on a previous report on this website. He said the bike was to be a graduation present for his son who just graduated from Charles Darwin university in NT and he would transfer the monies into a nominated bank account. He also said he was an operations manager on an oil rig somewhere and he had a private transport agent to pick up the goods on the weekend.
I feel so stupid for giving him my bank account number but luckily I gave him the number to visa debit account that had no money in it and have since shut it down.
He's very very convincing but my gut instinct said to check him out. I googled his name and he came up everywhere as a scammer with an almost identical story.
Scam EmailGumtree Australia and the story he gave is identical as all the others, his son graduated from Charles Darwin university in the NT and he was a operations manager on an oil rig.
