We took an advertisement out on Craigslist in May 2022 for a wanted 68 Mustang part. Mr. Cameron responded by phone and claimed to have this specific hard to find classic car part and more desirable Mustang parts which he would sell us for $1,200. He wanted a down payment of $400 so we sent him a personal check to 48 East North Broadway, Columbus , Ohio. We later discovered this was a church and his place of employment as a custodian. William said he preferred a money order for $400 (which we sent over night delivery for $27.) He claims to have shredded the personal check, but we paid a $25. stop payment fee at our bank, OnPoint Credit Union, just to be sure. William claimed to have a friend in the shipping business who could deliver all the parts to our home, but after several excuses we realized this was all fabricated.
We discovered the scam after searching William Cameron Scam on google. We learned that William Cameron has been involved in many other scams similar in nature to ours since 2018. Here is a site that has other people scammed by William Cameron. https://800notes.com 614-273-9581/6142739581-800Notes

Mr, Williams lives in Columbus Ohio, p.o. box 82064, zip code 43202.. He looks on craigslist under the items that people want to buy, then he calls them and says he has the items, when you ask for pictures he says he doesn't have the type of phone to send them. He is very cordial saying he has just worked on the same item. He didn't seem to be overbearing just a older gentlemen, making you think he is trustworthy. You can google his name and he pops right up, as a very big scammer. Do not fall for this. Why he is not in jail is unbelievable. BUYER BEWARE!!!

William contacted me after he saw my Craigslist add because I was looking for a set of front fenders for a 1960 Chevy Biscayne car. He said he had a set, new in box, still have part-number tags on them. He was cleaning out his shop after completing the restoration of 2 1960 Chevy cars. For $300 he would send me the fenders and the D-Buckets that go behind the headlights. Just send the money to him in the form of a Money Order. I asked about a bank check or cashier's check but he was adamant about a Money Order because it was easiest for him. (This should have been my first clue) He gave me his PO Box number and I sent the money. He sent me a fictitious DHL Tracking Number. Long story short, I got scammed and the Columbus OH Attorney General's office is working on it right now.

Mr Cameron responded to a Craigslist post I had. I was looking for a piece of equipment for
my tractor. He said he had one that he bought awhile back but decided not to use it and now
it is taking up space in his warehouse and he wants to sell it. I asked for his address so that
I could come over and see it. He lives in Columbus Ohio, but he can ship it to me, as he has
a trucking company he deals with all the time. He'll sell it for XX amount of dollars, and if I
will send him a deposit ( Money Gram ) he will get it on a truck and heading my way. If it
gets here and it's not what I want, just have the truck bring it back. I looked up his name and
saw he was a scam, but he was all about me sending that money gram so he could get it
shipped, called me several times to see if I had sent the money. I gave him a fake tracking
number and he went down to Walmart to get his money only to find there was nothing there.
Beware of WILLIAM CAMERON. he is a scam.......o-yea, a truck never showed up with any
equipment. Send him a phony tracking number and let him spend time and gas going to
collect his money ( he thinks )..... by the way.. a money gram uses 8 digits and the walmart money transfer is a 9 digit. He wants you to use Money Gram so he can collect most anywhere. Send
him to Walmart to stand in line and get nothing....
Scam EmailI found he was a scam on the internet just typing his name in the browser, he responded to an
add I posted on Craigslist.
