| Nicholas Gibb Livingston, West Lothian, United Kingdom 2014-12-29 12:38:41 Classified Ads Scam Gumtree | +1 GUMTREE ENQUIRY I advertised my car for sale on Gumtree & tradeit late at night on 28-12-14 and got a text at 7.30am the following day from richard who said:
"I'm interested in ur Vehicle. Whats ur last asking price & condition? Kindly email & send the photos (richyaman0111@gmail.com)".
I text back and my text came back as NOT DELIVERED which i thought was unusual and his text was titles Richard which was starnge as i usually only get names on text if they are in my contacts list. I got another text at 10.45am from a number #44 7624 803049 saying whats the final price of ur car? which is the same way Richard worded his text, your = ur. email address again was staciegooding23@gmail.com.
I went on the internet to search the number and found paypal community had activity appertaining to people from Nigeria saying they were unable to collect goods so could they pick them up using a courier and then disputing payment.
these people are low life scamers that are taking advantage of our trusting culture and using emotions to take advantage of nice people, they should be stopped!!
its funny how they are on gmail and google do NOTHING about it! they have a duty of care and they are choosing not to use their power to stop these people! |

Selling my car on gumtree had a text from Dustin, asking for final asking price, then a few hours later from stacie gooding, asking the same thing. I replied to both emails, and both came back with a similar story of how they were buying it for their sons birthday and couldn't video chat due to being offshore/airplane pilot. Asked for my PayPal details so they could send money and arrange for a courier to collect. English in the email was atrocious and o could tell something was not right. So I goofed stacie gooding, and the first thing that came up was "scam alert"
Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
