My Car is for sale on Gumtree & Carsales.com.au..I recieved a text message saying Hello is your Vehicle still available for sale?Email me to (rubynates(AT)gmail.com)Iwant to buy asap.

To this I replied to the number texted back and tried to call thet number was not going through.Hence I emailed replying saying yes and asking the scammer where they saw the car in reply I recieved this email below from the scammer.

Thank you for getting in touch. I'll like to know your asking price. How I wish i could come for inspection but I'm currently offshore for my UN program. Here is the deal. I will arrange with my pick up agent to collect from you as it is the best way I can handle this professionally.

Due to this inability to bring cash physically, the best way to pay for me would be through Bank Trasfer which is safer, Kindly send me account name,bsb and acct number alternatively you can send your PayPal email for the transfer

Please, I'd like to know the present condition,How many owners has the car had?How many kilometres has it done?Has it ever been in a crash?Has it been kept in a garage?your final asking price?

Not a problem why don't you transfer the money into your agents name and they bring the cash and take the car and the paper work the same time.
THAT WAS THE END NO MORE EMAILS BUT THE FOLLOWING DAY THE SAME TEXT ASKING IF THE CAR IS AVAILABLE.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE WOULD LIKE ANY SIMILAR EXPERIENCES FOR US TO SPREAD

Scam was about buying my car - it felt fishy so I googled the email address and came up with the scamdex site. looks like others have been scammed? Haven't sent any bank details, luckily!

Thanks a lot for the email. I'm away at the moment, and we are presently offshore on UN project. We do not have access to phone at the moment,,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. Where is it located at the moment?

Hi again Ruby. my car is located in northern NSW near Murwillumbah. if you have access to the internet you could check out the car at careless.com.au. it hasn't been in any accidents (i'm a good driver!) but has a couple of minor scratches shown in the photos online. one scratch is at on the front left bumper dear the ground. the other is on the back right number also near the ground. otherwise, all good. the interior is in good condition as it's usually been just me in the car and i don't have kids. I am the only owner and bought it new in May 2012. Happy to provide BSB and account details once you confirm you're OK with the price. I haven't got a lot of wriggle room with the price unfortunately, but can do $17,000.
