Gumtree |  +6 New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kapo project This person contacted me to buy my dress advertised on Gumtree. It seemed suspicious from the start because their email went into a long story explanation, they didn't tell me which dress they wanted to buy and I had 3 different dresses advertised. It seems this person is a repeat scam offender |

Thanks a lot for the email. I am away at sea at the moment,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kapo project. We do not have access to phone at the moment,its 5days off and 25days on,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. Where is it located at the moment?
I am buying it i want it delivered before my arrival.I won't be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work and i would have called but our calling is restricted.Regarding the payment,pls get back to me with your final asking price and your paypal details so i can process the payment you can easily log on to www.paypal.com and register an account with them if you dont have,or you can alternatively send your bsb and acct number if you have no paypal acct.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct." I thought it sounded suspicious then when I offered to send the items to him, this is the message I got. "i can only arrange for my courier to come to you for collection after you send me your payment details"

Claimed he wished to buy a sink i advertised on gumtree for $400. Just send my email and paypal acc or bank details and he will buy it. Same story as others. Working overseas, no phone, email only, buying without viewing, will get his courier to pick up. Suspicious all the way, but the give away was when he said that courier wanted $950 to pick up.... ( a $400 sink ???). Google search brought me here. Replied to him and thanked him from Ben Deuw Ovachairkant....lol and he still replied.

Thanks for the payment details and am happy to proceed with the
payment, however i just got a confirmation mail from the shipping
agent now that i will need to pay for the freighting fees before they
can schedule pre-shipping/ pickup date,they charged $950 for the
pick up and delivery, but the problem is they only accept Western Union
money transfer as form of payment which is sent to their HQ in the
AUSTRALIA.
I need a credit card to personally take care of that but I didn't
bring it along as I am currently on duty and had thought there would
be no need for bringing it along.
As you are well aware of, due to the nature of my work am away and do
not have access to Western Union , will it be ok with you if I add the $950 to the
amount I am transferring? and you can help me make the Western Union
transfer of the freighting fees through Western Union money transfer?
You are not obliged to help me, but i will indeed appreciate
your help as I am a little incapacitated here

1) Are you the Owner?
2) Pick up Location?
3) Your PayPal Email to effect the payment
4)asking price once again for confirmation?'
He had entered on the local site where we sell and recycle items we have and sent me a message that he needed to speak to me through e-mail, so I sent him the e-mail only. Instantly I received the above e-mail which was strange as first he said he wanted it for his son, then for someone. Also that he is on a trip because of his work, and an agent will collect it. This is strange for this site where we sell items usually locally. Surely he was not familiar with the way things worked on the site. I sent him back an e-mail that I could not help him and Goodbye. That's it hope!

He wanted to buy a diamond ring I was selling, within 2 minutes he replied with an offer, once he asked for my email he sent through the below email and I knew it was a scam, so I double checked on here and I was right.

Request to buy our car (Auto Trader) asked for us to email Pay Pay invoice for payment... did & this the reply:-
My name is dan lawrence and I'm really interested in buying this for someone. I will pay you via paypal only as its safe and secured online payment. I won't be able to look at it due to the nature of my work but I'll be responsible for the payment fees and I'll have my private mover pick it up from you once the payment has clear to your account. Please am I the first to contact you about it since you've posted it for sale online?why are you selling it?where would you like to meet my mover for pick up?I can assure you that this deal will be hassle free so do you have a paypal account already for the payment?

I have just made the payments now and i expect PayPal to have emailed you by now if you don't get it please check your spam or junk box maybe the mail went there,i sent $9,267.28 in all, To (quinfamilyemail@gmail.com ) i transfer the fund from my PayPal account to your Paypal account , PayPal said they would be holding the funds and it will not be credited into your account because of the excess payments of $900.00 i added meant for pick up and delivery,they said they have emailed you to this effect, you will need to send the $900.00 to my pick up agent Headquarters via Western Union Money transfer,so that PayPal can credit the $9,267.28 into your account as soon as you have emailed the Western Union details to them, i added extra $100.00 to cover the Western Union charges which shouldn't be more than $50.00 but just to be sure i added $100.00
Here is the pick up agent info needed to get the money sent through Western Union Money transfer:

Zipcode: 30253

I will need the details of the transfer once you have sent fund . . .
1.The MTCN number
