| Anonymous Nagoya, Aichi, Japan 2015-05-14 22:44:13 Classified Ads Scam Other Classifieds Site | +2 Okinawa BooKoo car buying scam BooKoo user Austin (BooKoo Fan 7747) responded to my listing for a car. He requested that I contact him via email at aaustingdavis22@gmail.com. In email conversation he wanted to buy my car and pay via PayPal and have an agent shipper with a Power of Attorney (POA) pick up my car. I questioned his Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) status and whether he had a waiver to buy another car. He assured me he was however, further research did not validate this claim. He asked that I called him at 513-394-6561. |

Picked up off of BOOKOO while trying to sell my truck.
Red flag 1: extremely broken English in a manner consistent with middle eastern/southeastern asian mannerisms.
Red Flag 2: CANNOT PICK UP IN PERSON, wants to use a cargo shipping company called " Speedway Cargo Services" (A quick google reveals it is a real company, but based in Qatar. Not Southern California, though he insists its a "local shipping company in the state")
Red Flag 3: He wants to do this NOW. He was insistent I give him my paypal information so he could transfer me the money (which was actually more than my asking price) right that second.
He claims to work at the Hamburg Oil Field, in northern Alberta, Canada.
He claims to be out of cell coverage, and has satellite internet, but too slow for internet calling or video calling,

A person attempting to buy a car via bookoo in Germany, then sends fraudulent emails from PayPal stating that money has been added to my PayPal account (with a multitude of mistakes in English), then asks to send the pick up agent $900 via Western Union because he can't do it himself. Gives details of the agent as: Christopher Sesay 119 Park Hill Avenue Staten Island New York
