I received a text stating that I had replied to a casting call. It said to please call 929-285-0255. I gave the number a call and said that I was responding to the text for the casting call. Other asked what casting this was for and the lady change the subject asking if I could come to Manhattan today at 3:00pm. I stated I was from another state and wouldn't be able to make it today so she then says ok how about tomorrow at 3:00. Which I said okay. She tells me she will send me a text witht the location for the casting when she gets the info. I get a text saying "ace 20 3:00pm 20 west 29th between Broadway and 5th. Please call when you arrive". So the next day I start making my way to Ny. Halfway ther around 1:30pm I get a text from the number sayings could come early if I want. I responded ok, I'm on my way. I reach inside the hotel which looks like a little cafe with free wifi and a lot of people just studying and such. And I give her a call. Mind you from the beginning this woman never even stated her name to me. I call only to reach a voicemail. So I call again. And the woman answer saying she can't see me to stand by the entrance and she'll wave me over. So I sit down and she basically just goes right in saying " this is our models and pulls up the website (fashiontradepartners.com) saying that I'll need an extensive portfolio to book jobs and that it will cost me $250. And that I needed to make a full payment or a deposit of at least half.So I said ok and then she says "do u need to go to the atm". Right there I'm thinking ok she didn't ask me nothing about my experience or anything I've done so I ask her what exactly is she gonna do for me. She then asks me how old I am? I stated 28 and she says great you could do beer and liquor ads. So I'm excited thinking that she'll be able to book me some jobs and she says ok I'm going to make some phone calls while you go the arm pressuring me to go. So I get up go to the atm and withdraw $120. And comeback and she's like ok how much are you paying today. I give her the money and she gives me a form with how much I paid the balance and info on what to bring to the photo shoot. Long story short I leave and text her about 10min later asks g her what was the name of her company and instead she call me saying that they are photographers ( I don't know who "they" are) but she says she has a lot of clients and basically they are who you would meet had I gone through and agency but the agency would keep half of my money and that they don't. Then she said I like you and drive safely and get home. She tells me to call her Tomorrow with any questions and I told her its ok I can talk right now and she says no it's going to start raining and you should drive home safely and call her anytime tomorrow. When I got home I started to look up the website and information on her and it comes up everywhere that she has been doing this since 1987 and has even been prosecuted for this before now she is basically back. She is and 5'3 to maybe 5'5 Caucasian women around 50-65yrs of age with ginger blondish hair that's about shoulder length. She had a brown leather book ad with her an iPad andher phone. I will contact the authorities or someone in order to try to get her prosecuted again. Remember the description of this lady and don't be the next victim of her scam.
