Western union fraud Guy contacts me on letitgo.com to purchase my mini bike. He said he was in base in the navy and would send my payment via PayPal. A few minutes later three emails from PayPal show up in my spam box (red flag - I have an account with PayPal). The email confirms that an amount in excess of the purchase amount is on hold in my account. To release said funds, I'm to go to the nearest western union and send them $457.00 ( the excess amount). Upon receipt of these funds, the payment will be released to me. This had scam all over it.. I didn't believe it for a minute, but I wanted to get as much info as possible. A few things that tipped me off: 1. out of state and on an army base ( no way to verify information, no address); 2. The PayPal emails, super fake ( PayPal addressed the email to my e-mails address instead of my legal name - which they have on file) 3. Lastly, why in the hell would I send someone money that owes me money for a purchase... Be wise people. |

I posted a craiglist ad to sell my truck and this guy started texting me that he wanted to but the truck that he would submit the payment including the transportation fee. What got to me was that he said i had to pay $657 out of my pocket for something he was purchasing from me. He proceeded on insisting to head over to the western union and make the payment since he had been charged for it on his credit card. He mentioned he had contacted the fbi and paypal becuase i was a scammer trying to take his money. Its funny how if your buying something it would be pending and not proceesed immediately. Cant believe there is people out there like. My friend actually was the one that told me he was a big scammer and was all over google.
