| No Name Chula Vista, CA, United States 2012-07-03 05:31:30 Classified Ads Scam Paypal (paypal.com) | +4 car for sale It was a reply to my car for sale post on San Diego Classifieds. At first I was convinced to be dealing with an honest buyer but then the urgency he showed on his text message and emails made me hesitant. The person was a \"DAVID GRAY JR\" who is listed on several cases in this link. He is using the identical emails: \"want the car for my father\" \"I do not have telephone availability as I am working off shore New Zealand\"; \"I will pay via pay-pay immediately\"; \"will send a courier agent to pick up the car\"; \"at your \'convinience\' \"; He recommented I open an account with PAYPAL and wanted my number and account name. He played along up to the point when he asked why I was questioning about his previous deals. Also interested in my Linkedin account, which has a person with the same name listed but is a lawyer, I think he stole his identity from Linkedin and E-Bay because there is one seller using Gray3472 on E_bay. I understand there are several lookouts for this or these persons. |

So i got an email from the scamming bastard saying " Great reading from you. I am interested in the immediate purchase. I will take it for the price you've mentioned and I will gladly cover PayPal charges from my end.
I can only make the payment via paypal because it's very safe and secure for both of us. In case you don't have a paypal account I'll advice you to register for one at http://www.paypal.com/. I have a private pick-up agent that will contact you in-order to handle the pick-up at any location of your choice once the payment is completed.
Question: I'll like you to tell me more about the present mechanical condition, how often do you service it, mechanical history, have you ever experience any mechanical problem with it before and why are you selling it?
Do you have a linkedin id?
Look forward to reading from you at your earliest convinience."
dont fall for it. he is a fake scamming prick!!!
Best Regards,
David
and second email stating "Thanks for the info. I'm very much interested and I want you to know that you don't have to surf around looking for buyers because you've just found one. This is a gift for my Dad, I hope you understand my eagerness to complete this transaction a.s.a.p...?
Immediately the payment is completed and transferred into your account, the agent will contact you in-order to handle the pickup from your location and he will also be of assistance concerning the change of ownership by presenting all the information's/documents needed to complete the change of ownership.
This transaction is based on HUGE amount of trust and I expect to see this from your end as it is on mine.
This is my linkedin id http://au.linkedin.com/pub/david-gray/37/749/5b4
The agent will be sign the pink silip."

I received a reply in regards to a man buying my car. He texted me and asked me to reply to his email as he was unable to receive incoming texts. Once I replied to his email he was very nice, sounded extremely interested and eager to buy. After not wanting to see the car, sending an agent to pick up the vehicle, paying thru immediate PayPal, and I realized that this was most likely a scam. So I looked up his LinkedIn acct and it was from Australia (bingo) not to mention I didn't reply anymore and haven't got a response in almost a week (some immediate purchase he obviously wanted - lol). I then searched his number and came upon this website. Thanks for the tips! :)

I listed my car for sale on several website including craigslist.org and carsforsale.com. I received a text message from this number requesting information be emailed to him as he didn't have access to receiving text replies. After googling the number I found this report and didn't respond.
