i was looking for a good deal on a motorcycle to get back on the road and taking tours with my friends. the posting on craigslist was pretty much what i was looking for, and to boot it was going for a rather low price. so we started to send email back and forth with Q&A, usual type behaviour, not pushy, nothing suspicious. every question found a good answer, all details that were provided checked out and increased the level of confidence from \"suspicious\" to \"cautious\" to \"sounds genuine\".
right until the moment of providing the payment via MoneyGram.
conversations continued a few days after the payment was done (i guess it takes a few days to process the payment). thereafter all communications halted - no responses on eMail, nothing from their phone and/or SMS.
clearly, as soon as i called to request a return of the funds, the money had been collected and there was no method of recourse.

possibly, even the Craigslist posting was highjacked by these guys.
