| Kai Kopsala Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 2012-09-05 00:22:57 Classified Ads Scam Gumtree | +2 car Sale I am selling a car on Gumtree and rec;d a txt message from this Helvis Datford stating he wished to buy the car. My first suspicions came when i rec\'d the same txt from 2 different mobile numbers approx\' 10 minutes apart. The message asked for me to contact him via email (address listed above).
No sooner had i hit the send button on the email i rec\'d a lengthy reply stating that his is off shore working on an oil rig and he asked for my Paypal details to credit the funds. Immediately i thought this is a Hoax as he would had to have been sitting at a computer and how would he have known at that precise time I was going to send an email to him. 1st he would have had to open up the email, read it then send a reply and the length of the reply was to big to have been written so quickly, regardless of your typing speed. The reply email i rec\'d was sent 1 minute after i had sent my initial email to him. SO I HOPE PEOPLE USE A LITTLE BIT OF COMMONSENSE AND DON\'T FALL FOR THESE TYPES OF SCAMS. No matter how desperate you are to sell. |

I received a text about a car I had posted, in the text it asked me to email him about the car. I did and similar to other people's post here, he said that he was on an oil rig and wanted the car.

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
