I received a message asking for the final price of my car and could I reply by email.
Fortunately my daughter did more investigating and found out that it was a scam.
Once I emailed back saying that I would not hand over the car to an agent and that I needed cash the email suddenly stopped. |

I was selling my car on Gumtree.
This "prospective" buyer sent a text and redirected me to email.
Said he was a remote area worker from Darwin and couldn't view the car but would send an agent to pick it up.
He even sent me a copy of his drivers license (stolen) to suck me in to thinking he was an Aussie.
Then he asked ME to send HIM money to a chinese address for the agents fee.
I was wondering if the guy on the license (Peter Wayne Carmichael) knew someone had stolen his ID, so I tracked him down on facebook and sent him a message.
I also sent the Chinaman a message that I can't repeat on here.
Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
