| Anonymous Axton, VA, United States 2012-12-04 15:07:46 Business Venture Scam Craigslist (craiglist.com) | +4 Randy Sigley I found a great place to rent and was very excited. I am single mom and work very hard for my money. I have emails to prove ALL of this. Randy told me the place would be available December 20th. I offered to put down half of the deposit and sign a lease after I met him and saw the place. He seemed nice and no worse than any other landlord I\'ve had. A few days later we met next door to my work and I read and signed a lease with him and gave him a check for half of the deposit. When he went to get the second copy to sign, it wasn\'t there. He said he would send me a scanned copy. He told me he had to verify my employment. He NEVER did this. He had the same bank as I did, and instead of simply depositing the check like most businesses would, he cashed it IMMEDIATELY. I had told him that I would like to get the pet deposit out of the way early. He said that was fine and I told him it would be the Friday after Thanksgiving. He was going to send me his account number along with the scanned lease. I never got these so I contacted him on that date and told him I had the money for the pet deposit and would like to pay him at his convenience. He didn\'t get back to me until that Sunday, November 25. He gave me his account number and I immediately used USBank BillPay to pay the bill. Immediately. He said it was fine. He chose this payment method. I emailed him to let him know the date the money would clear for him. I received an email saying he would watch for it and that he had had a seizure and would be out of the loop for a few days. On Thursday, the day he should have had the money, he emailed saying that he had not received it. Then he emailed and said he had received it. THEN he emailed and said he hadn\'t received it and was holding me in breach of my lease for non-payment and not making an effort to pay and for choosing a payment method that \"failed and continues to fail\" Now, I have never moved in. I asked to pay the deposit early. I tried to pay it early. I DID pay it early. USBank can and will confirm that. He has since stopped returning my emails. He listed the property back on craigslist right after he told me that I broke the lease. He also says that I am responsible for any rent money that he does not receive during the period of my lease. I have contacted the tv stations, the Independent (they called me today), the Gazette, the police, the bank, the bbb, the military police (he has a long story about his military career and his son) and craigslist. If this man has scammed you, PLEASE contact me. I will not rest until he pays for what he has done to so many of us. |

My name is Randy Sigley. I own Pikes Peak Rentals. If you found this site by googling me or via a website set up as pikespeakrentalsltd.com feel free to contact me about the individual who set the site up. His name is "Dan" -- he will not give his last name - and the reason he did this website venture is because I am taking necessary legal action against his friend. Dan has been freeloading at her apartment for months and, when they moved into a vacant apartment without permission, steps were taken to have them move out. Her lease is up and she has been given fully adequate notice to relocate. She intended to do that anyway according to her emails. What they wanted to do is move out of a damaged apartment then move into a restored apartment with no lease, no pet fee, and no deposit, then leave the second apartment to be restored. I do not think you would agree to that; I did not. Dan created the problems and is now leaving as of 5/26/2013, leaving behind the problems he created for her.
Dan has been harassing prospective tenants when they come to the property and I have received complaints about his behavior from them. He was given the chance to cease and desist and remain there until his departure date but has persisted in this activity instead.
Although he will not give his last name his California plates can be run through California DMV so I can provide that information. He has a home in Ukiah, CA but is freeloading here and causing a stir before leaving his friend holding the bag.
Because he and others have chosen to persist in this type of activity I am entitled to share with any interested party
Anyway, if you want any information and records please contact me. pikespeakrentals@aol.com. This is true for any tenant with complaints about me or my company.
Thank you.
Randy Sigley
Scam EmailAs stated, there is no scam. Dan is creating a forum in which I can disclose information necessary to keep the record straight. Contact me if you have questions. Thank you. Randy Sigley

There is no scam. The story you read above is not the whole story -- just that part which serves the complaining party's purposes. My name is Randy Sigley and I own Pikes Peak Rentals. The tenant was approved with no credit check, simply by verification of employment. She was given a week to make a partial deposit, then 10 more days to tender the balance. The tenant was given extensions to make a full deposit and to make arrangements to move into the apartment but kept delaying and creating excuses for not complying with the lease. After two weeks of trying to meet her requests it became clear that the tenant was not going to comply and was playing the "time line" game to keep her options open while she either looked for a different apartment or move into the apartment without paying the deposit or fee. She was give several chances to respond and get caught up and chose not to then dropped out of sight.
If you are interested the contact me at pikespeakrentals@aol.com and I will provide a copy of the complete file to you with any and all emails still available.
I will provide file information on any dispute involving any complaining tenants.
Thank you.
Scam EmailAs stated above, there is no scam -- the lease is clear and she was afforded chances to get caught up but did not. The apartment was then rented to another and the matter was closed.
