Similar language used to scam Leroy in Manitouwadge, Ontario by Mr. John Ericsson.
Letter was mailed to me at an incorrect but deliverable address advising that a person with my family name from Canada had died and left a bundle... Return address for mail from Toronto (while John was on a business trip there) was P.O. Box 4058 Station A Toronto Ontario M5W 1L8.
John said " I am an accountant and independent underwriter, I work for one of the financial institutions here in the United Kingdom. I am aware that this letter has come to you as a surprise. As we have not met before, or handle any business dealings in the past. Nevertheless I have contacted you with genuine intentions.

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH ----
Not only was the grammar very bad but my first name was not used even though the envelope had my full name and address although not entirely a correct address so it came from an earlier source off of a database. These clowns really need to brush up on their details.
I have scanned the letter and the envelope which I will send to all of my relatives with the same family name that I can easily reach. I will also give them your web sit address so they can read up on this foolishness and perhaps not be sucked in.
Thank you Scamalot for your help in getting rid of these cretins...

Same info about a dead relative in UK. I can claim the money because I am the only one left in the world using that last name. Guess what? I made my last name the way it is now and only my children carry it besides my wife and I. I would tell him to keep the money. Or in due case to mail me a postal money order in advance. If I see and touch the money, I will call him back. He sent me a letter.

Estate Settlement Letter. He says he is an accountant and banker by profession in UK. Postal Address was from 200 Marsh Wall, Suite 200, London UK, but was mailed from University Ave., Toronto, Canada. Letter states that a relative has died and left US $3.8 million., all I have to do is write back and claim the money. (However the relative he names is NOT dead but living not 40 miles from me in Canada.) The letter was sent to my old address of 8 years ago (where my daughter now lives). It is very poorly written with dreadful grammar. I would say this was a person who has English as a second language and obviously not a professional person. Another email he quoted is: johnconsultantinc@gmail.com
