The translation was basically an advertisement about a Bracelet of Power that brings wealth, love, and everything you want if you wear the bracelet. I thought since I was doing a translation job it wasn\'t a scam (although the content I translated seemed like it). When it came to payment time, she sent me this email:
Hello Sarah, sorry for the late response. I had some problems at the post office today when I wanted to send the check. More-so, am so busy with work. Fortunately, I asked one of my client to send the check instead. The only problem is, the check will be in excess. After it clears, will like to know if you will be able to send me the excess money because it will be for my plane ticket back home. Am sorry for any inconvenience. Please let me know if this is okay with you. Thanks for the translation and do not bother about the date issue.
Cassie.
Her email is cassiewilliams85@live.com.
That seemed really fishy so I looked up whether it was a scam or not. I found some similar cases and so I emailed her back and told her she can cancel that check and send me one for the correct amount or else do it through paypal. After that I never heard from her again. So obviously a scam. Fortunately I had an inkling and did not send her the entire translation I did for her, however, I sent her my address so that she could send me the check but never received it. |

This girl is going door to door soliciting for magazines for wounded warriors or children's hopital books. Extra money goes for her trip to Hawaii as she says she is with the Atlanta Roller Girls team and they are going to an event there.
She has receipts and cards with into to purchase these items. She said she lived in my subdivision with her family, named the street etc. She is about 5'6" tall, dark long hair, 20 years old and has tiny "diamond" studs in her nose, right cheek and ear. She even offered to do chores for me since I said to her this is the only donation I had done this year since my husband and I were out of work.
The Check is to be made out to NXCESS a Canton or Woodstock fullfillment house. This company in no longer in business and in fact the Atlanta Roller Girls has a FRAUD ALLERT with specific info about her on their website. She spells her name Cassie but it is pronounded Casey.
We asked if she was in school and she said that she was sitting out this semester and was going back after the first of the year.
SHE IS VERY CONVINCING!!!!
Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
