Then i was given an email to contact them back on, so i emailed them, they then sent an email to me wishing to buy my wedding dress that is on bride2bride for sale, they next said they would arrange a courier & wanted details for paypal so they could pay me, another email i received later on said they had made a payment into my paypal account & that i would not be paid until i have paid £300 to a courier in cyprus, it is a paypal email that gives a moneygram request, details here : First name: Gurpreet
Last name: SINGH
Country: CYPRUS
i checked Scamalot's typical page for this sort of scam & Scamalot's word for word example of a scam from a moneygram request payment from paypal i have received in an email just a day ago. So reporting this. I only recently a few days ago put up that add for selling my wedding dress on Bride2Bride website. I also got through some other females contacting me about my house clearance sales on eBay website, also on gumtree website. They seem to contact you with phone messages & then leave an email address for you to contact them back on. The other three females that are generalising * furniture * & * jewellery * sections must know they are house clearances, so generalise without noting any specific item i have listed for sale, so i did not respond to them at all, however the scam i am reporting most certainly picked my item up for sale as advertised & also used the right website i had listed my item for sale on website * Bride2Bride * here in the UK. |

I received a text message from 'Laura' asking if the wedding dress was still for sale on SMWD and asking me to email mamaxtian06@gmail.com.
The first warning sign was that I had received a text from someone called Laura and which showed up as 'Laura' as opposed to showing up as a mobile number that is not stored in my mobile.
Secondly, why ask me if the dress is still for sale on SMWD when they can see that for themselves.
I then googled the email address and found it really was a scam.

Named at Laura Brown stated the following message in an email to me..
Thanks for your response,i want all please.
I want you to consider this a deal as i am willing to pay your full asking price! i actually want to buy them for a family member who is urgently in need of them, i have checked through your posting and i'm fully satisfied with them.
Unfortunately, i would not be able to come personally to view/collect, i work offshore as an instructor on a oil rig so i don't have time at all, but like i said i am 100% OK with the advert.
However, I will pay you via PayPal once you are ready and send my courier agent to collect after you have fully received your money as that is the only means of payment available to me at the moment. I would also appreciate if you could remove the advert asap.
I will contact the courier agent now so please get back to me with a suitable collection time.
I have items for sale on Ebay, presume it is from there.

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
