Autotrader (autotrader.com) |  +8 Fraudulent Request to Buy a Car He contacted me following an advert I had placed on Autotrader. He offered to buy my car, and just as I thought the deal was being finalised, he asked if I could transfer £850 to him through Western Union first, to help him have the car transported to another country. I sent him a very angry email back and haven\'t heard from him since. |

Texted me about the car I was selling on autotrader and asked me to email with more details. I did, but he said he'd only pay with paypal. I proceeded no further because of the other stories regarding this 'man'.

Ha. The guy is still up to it. The guy won't give up. I never met someone who wants to buy a car so badly but doesn't bother to see it, drive and complete the paper work. The email he used is bantario-566@yahoo.com.

This car buying scam is still going on! I had the email this evening - Thanks to those who have posted this previously!
"Thanks for the swift response and do as well advise on the least amount you will like to give it away as i am buying this for Dad and due to the nature of my job and location...i will not be able to come for inspection,am a very busy type as i work long hours everyday,i have gone through your advertisement and i am satisfied with it.
As for the payment..i can only pay via the fastest and secure way to pay online(PayPal) here.
I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after the payment have been made ...so no shipping included and With the issue of my details,transferring the name of ownership and signing of all paperwork will be done by the courier services company agent so you don't have to worry about that.
You can now send me your PayPal email so i can pay in right away and also include your address in your reply.If you don't have a paypal account, you can easily set up one...log on to http://www.paypal.com and sign up its very easy... i would have loved to talk to you on phone but i work mainly offshore, our phone is down on the rig right now due to bad weather, that was why i sent you a text, i even wonder how my message deliver to your phone but for now we can only communicate through the same mailing channel.await your reply asap"

Emailed, requesting to use pay pal to buy the vehicle, even though he hasnt seen it. I phoned paypal, they say the scam is that he sends a fake paypal email next overpaying by £600, the email says the funds cant be released until a £600 fee is paid by the seller. Seller pays £600 to western union.

Received a brief email regarding my car being sold through autotrader simply saying "Very much interested in your ad,anything else to add?" clearly not the words of a genuinely interested buyer, that has read the full listing description.
Another scammer, do not bother responding to them.

Exact same thing, different email address' each time. guy should be shot, starting with his kneecaps. Other address used soulebaba@btinternet.com.

He contacted me about my car for sale on autotrader. Luckily I googled his email address and came up with this website.
Thanks a lot to the previous person who has registered a scam complaint against, John Maddox a la brandnuday@btinternet.com
I told him police will be smashing his door the next morning.. LOL ! I am sure i am not going to hear anymore from scum like him !
