Gumtree |  +5 Scam attempt on gumtree ad I posted an ad to gumtree selling a dining table and chairs. Potential buyer sent a message via gumtree asking for my email address. Then i recieved an email saying he was working offshore for NZOG do couldnt contact me by phone and asked for my bank details. Also in email said would arrange a courier to pick up.
I was suspicious so googled name for scam alert and saw he has tried to rip other people off by getting them to pay for delivery etc.

I posted a bedroom suite for sale on Gumtree and recived an inquiry asking to reply directly back to an email. Which unfortunately initially did. Gut instinct was to google the name and email body which showed up scammers.
Had the same as the previous emails and within 10mins of the 1st emails had subsequent inquiries asking to reply directly to an email address. Suspicious as the names varied between Kat, Kaite & Kathleen.

I won't be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work and i would have called but our calling is restricted.Regarding the payment,pls get back to me with your final asking price and your paypal details so i can process the payment,you can alternatively send your bsb and acct number if you have no paypal acct.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.

Email started off as golemetz20033@gmail.com and then blessme12341-favour@yahoo.com

Posted an ad in gumtree to sell our dining suite furniture, this asshole sent me a message asking for my email, bit suspicious, and he sent me this email asking more details.
