Other Classifieds Site |  Online Dating Scam \"Andy\" had a profile \"Mytime9875\" listed on www.TheBigandthebeautiful.com dating site as being single, retired military, graduate degree, making about 250K/year. Photo posted was from a distance. I sent a \"flirt\" and he responded a few weeks later. Started out like a normal email communication except he gave me his Washington DC phone number (supposed to be from Seattle, WA). The website later put an investigation on this profile, so I suspect they had others complaining about this charmer. For the first few emails he wooed me and didn\'t provide much information and when I asked him questions, his answers were one-liners. I checked out the phone number and found out it was from a land-line company in Westchester DC that handled telemarketing/debt collections. Whenever I called this number, it would roll to a voicemail telling me that person at extension 24xxxx was not available and to leave a message. He would only text or email at first. When I called him between 3-11 pm I noticed he was never available because he was probably very busy at work...lol...when I did get to talk to him, he had an english accent (although it didn\'t really sound like it) and would constantly disconnect me like he was trying to discourage me from calling his phone. He told me he retired from the Army after 5 tours to the middle east and 27 years of duty but could not tell me his rank. He told me the cell phone he was using was from a \"business partner\" and he was involved in a auto repair shop in Seattle. We were never able to meet because he always came up with some excuse. He told me he disconnected his seattle home phone number due to some travel abroad he had to do (for two weeks? who does that?) The last excuse was a dying father in England. I was waiting for him to ask me for money to travel, but I nailed him instead and told him basically to go to hell. He was not a happy camper by the time I got done with him and his nasty scheme. I am going to the dating website next and report him there as well. |
