| Douglas Staley Old Bridge, NJ, United States 2011-10-10 19:55:30 Classified Ads Scam Craigslist (craiglist.com) | +6 craigslist scammer buyer I put a set of drums for sale on craigslist. Within a day a buyer contacts me wants more info on drums. Next email he states he wants to buy them & will have a shipping company pick them up and he will pay through paypal. next says shipping company only accepts western union so he is putting the money into my paypal account & i should western union the shipping of $450 once I get confirmed email from paypal. Wouldn\'t ya know another email appears says pay pal calling just to say my money is on its way so don\'t worry wire the money western union. That email came as paypal but when you look its from moneytransferdepartment@officeemail.net .
They also list their agents info as Michael Reynold 9925 W.Russell Road Las Vegas, NV 89109.
I have researched this name and address on the net & this con has been tried in the past with motorcycles, cars, etc.
The usual tell tale signs were there; buyer does not handle shipping, western union should be renamed swindlers paradise paypal is one safe way of doing business but paypal doesn\'t send you bogus emails and it comes from paypal not this other spam address. Fortunately I was not a victim of this low life hussle. |

My husband listed his Harley for sale on ebay classifieds. First he texted from phone number 320-515-7893 asking if item is still for sell and what is final selling price. Then gives the email address of mattjackson945@gmail.com for you to respond to. Emailed him back and gave him final selling price. Received email back from him offering more than final price plus the spelling and grammar are awful. All that put together made me suspicious so I googled his email address. Looks like he has been using same email address for a while, but with several different phone numbers.

Same guy tried to scam me. I listed a sofa set on Craig's List, he said he was highly interested and was offering to pay $100 extra?? Like that's not a red flag already. Then he emails me telling me about how I will receive the funds through paypal and don't even have to worry about shipping. Then says paypal won't accept the extra money that he is going to give for the shipping so it has to go through western union or something like that. It was a non-sensical email altogether that I just put him on the block list and googled his email and came across this website. Thanks for the heads up!

Had a car for sale and Kelly first sent an innocent email asking if it was still available.
This is followed by the following email that is clearly the same sort of scam reported above.
Thanks for your response, I am quite okay with your price,I need you to understand that i am willing and ready to purchase it right away and Please note that i have a shipper/mover who handles my shipping arrangement anywhere in the world, she would be coming for the pickup, after you have received payment, which would be through PayPal,If this is acceptable, advice soon as i am a Sailor and i am buying this for my son as a surprise gift,c of it,I can only pay through PayPal at the moment as i do not have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my PayPal account, and this is why i insisted on using PayPal to pay,all i will need is your pay pal email address to make the payments and some pictures if you do not have a PayPal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at www.paypal.com,i will be expecting your email.I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted.

I was selling a piano on eBay, he contacted me for more information. He asked what the condition of the Piano was and the final price, both of those were included in the listing. He also wanted to know why I was selling it. Thought all of this was very odd. Found his email address listed here on this website. Thank you!

Trying to buy my appliances and add $600 to send to the Pickup agent via Western Union.
Agent address was
Michael Reynold
Address: 9925 West Russell rd,
City: Las Vegas,
State: Nevada
Zipcode: 89109
Country: USA
They even went so far to fabricate a PayPal payment receipt for funds. the reply email address was paypaI_service@officeemail.net Notice, that's an "I" not an "L" in the address. The email looked very authentic, but there were no funds showing in my PayPal account. I called PayPal and they verified it was a scam..
