Didn't think much of it, so sent more details of car history etc
Thinking about the interaction some more, I thought I would search the web and that's how I found out it was a scam & ended up here at this web site scamdex.com

I was to cash the check and take the cash and then buy a money gram and money order and send that to them with the extra amount along with the item they were buying from me.
