I got a text message on my phone asking for the price, then i got this email.

wanted to buy my furniture form Gumtree offered more money than I had on it. so suspicious. asked for bank acc or paypal to pay .than they would have a courier pick it up from me when the funds clear. I didn't go any further with the sale as I looked up the company and it came up with scam.

We do not have access to phone at the moment and that's why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal linked up with my Westpac bank account. Kindly get back to me with your PayPal Email or Bank Details ( Account name, Number and BSB ) only if my offer is been accepted. Please try and consider either of this payment methods.I have also contacted my pick up agent who will come for pick up and deliver it to my business associate place after the whole fund has been cleared into your account. I was advertising some furniture on gumtree.com.au and received an sms from Stella (no phone number)
"Hello, is your furniture gown still for sale? advice on ur firm price with condition and email on stellaw2@outlook.com.au for quick response" which, due to the spelling and wording made me suspicious.
I then responded to the email with details of my items and received the email that was identical to the previously reported one. I then checked to see if it was a scam and found this page.

You do not have to bother yourself about the shipping.I\'ll instruct a Shipping Co Agent to come for pick up at your door,when you must have gotten your cash at hand...I will wait for the paypal payment to clear in your account before we proceed with the pickup,once payment has cleared in your account and money is made available,then after i will contact you on how the shipping agent will schedule the pick up time with you and deliver it to my place in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your account Thanks
