Gumtree |  +1 Selling a car Sold a van on gumtree, Emily boylle was intersted, wanted PayPal information, then wanted me to pay for carriage through Western Union as they were at sea and couldn't do it, showed the emails to my bank, they told me not to go ahead as they thought it was a scam, a week later I advertised my car through gumtree and the first response I got was from another person at sea wanting my PayPal details and then Emily boylle sent an email asking about the car |

I was contacted by the e-mail address jefflizzy200@gmail.com about the car i advertised on Gumtree (within an hour of it being posted, so they are obviously prowling the site). The name that they used this time was Denis Marcus. Same scenario - an oceanographer at sea so could only use Paypal and an agent to help with collection and paperwork - all costs covered by themselves. Offered full asking price and didn't even see the car. I don't think so. How can they keep getting away with this?!
