I received convincing emails from service@paypal.com.au (there is no such thing, the genuine website will always be paypal.com) stating that a payment has been held until the item has been posted, and once the postage details are forwarded to the (fake) paypal email, the payment would be released to me. I went to Australia Post and posted the item, sent the postage information to the paypal account, which replied saying the funds would be released, and went home. When I got home I had an off feeling about the whole thing, so I googled the name Katty Moore. Sure enough the first google result was from Scamalot, detailing someone else who had been scammed by this supposed buyer. I jumped in the car, went straight back to Australia Post, and in the end managed to get my laptop back and cancel the postage to China. And then this person had the NERVE to email me asking what was going with the postage. |
